But the town is humming with activity, week in week out, throughout the year as different groups and venues provide live music gigs, dance, theatre, cinema and a host of hands on activities.

Barnoldswick is bursting with talent and crackling with creativity. The town grows successive generations of outstanding musicians who entertain at venues such as The Cellar Bar and Greyhound. The town’s great range of venues also regularly host international acts.

Energetic sports clubs ensure plenty of action on soccer, cricket and rugby league pitches. And surrounded by countryside full of wonderful walks and bridleways, there’s great walking, riding and cycling. Barnoldswick’s Sports Centre has a learner and 25 meter pool as well as gym and indoor courts.

Bancroft's working mill engine brings history to life.

There’s a rich heritage to explore. Bancroft’s working mill engine brings history to life. Follow the award winning Stream and Steam Trail on a walk through the town, and through time, as you tread in the footsteps of handloom weavers and cotton mill workers.
