Barnoldswick is famous for its family friendly annual events such as May's Bands On The Square Music Festival, August’s Beach or November’s Switch On Saturday, which attract thousands of visitors.

Barnoldswick Beach: Britain's best inland beach, held each August.
But the town is humming with activity, week in week out, throughout the year as different groups and venues provide live music gigs, dance, theatre, cinema and a host of hands on activities.

Barnoldswick is bursting with talent and crackling with creativity. The town grows successive generations of outstanding musicians who entertain at venues such as The Cellar Bar and Greyhound. The town’s great range of venues also regularly host international acts.

Energetic sports clubs ensure plenty of action on soccer, cricket and rugby league pitches. And surrounded by countryside full of wonderful walks and bridleways, there’s great walking, riding and cycling. Idle on the banks of Britain’s best inland waterway as the Leeds and Liverpool Canal’s summit section meanders through Barnoldswick. Whether you like to relax, or keep occupied, Barnoldswick has a great deal going on for visitors and residents.

Barnoldswick Beach is back!

From the 30th July 2018 through to the 24th August, Barnoldswick Town Square will once again become the venue for Britain's best inland beach; Barnoldswick's Golden Mile!

Although Barnoldswick couldn't be any further from the sea, in August the tides bring tons of sand right into the heart of the town and Barnoldswick's square is transformed into a lovely sandy cove with lots of seaside activities.more

The tradition of Beating the Bounds dates back to a time before maps, when the boundaries were learned by heart by townsfolk and villagers through the annual ceremony.more

The museum will be open from 11.00 and our two large steam engines will be running at intervals between 13.00 and 15.45.

Come and see the magnificent Roberts engine, with its two cylinders and 16 foot flywheel which originally powered the mill driving some 1,250 weaving looms via its main shaft some 263 feet in length.more
